Open Question: Is a iPhone worth buying?

I want people who know about the iPhone and people who know about it in general and personal opinions
I ask this because of the following reasons:

1.Price (especially since cheaper yet similar type phones that are touch screens are coming out of the wood works)

2.Rumors about it messing up all the time

3.Heard its hard to send people who dont have iPhones picture messages

4.Heard texting was difficult because of the touchscreen

But one thing I have heard alot about that you cant get on other phones is that it has all those applications you can add on for a fee of course and it has a built in iPod which would spare me from buying and carrying around a extra device

What do you think is it worth it or does the good out weigh the bad?
