if i upgrade iPhone firware and jailbreak it, would i loose my phonebook/other data on phone?

when you connect your iPhone to itunes click sync and it backs up all your information after you update and jailbreak clikc sync an all your information SHOULD be put back but i’m not 100% sure on that
