   @tnoyy34rt true but really, the comsumer consists of the non computery people….im not a computer person, and I think this is sort of a waste…..why not just get an IPOD touch instead??? to me, this seems like just a big ipod touch (the guy tried to make it seem like it wasnt) but really, it is….and I would just buy an ipod touch ( i have one lol)

   @Tnoy34rt I doubt you will understand this, but here it goes; The ipad is a smartphone and a half, that is to say it is more capable than a smartphone, but not quite as capable as a full fledged comp. it is running a mobile phone OS, on beefed up hardware that is expressly designed to distinguish said device from it’s smaller brethren as a result, I would expect it to be more expensive than a smart phone, but less than a comp. this is not the case with the ipad, therein lies my problem with it.

    No, the HP TouchSmart has a very poor touchscreen, no real touch apps, and is still trying to run Windows. The iPad stomps it in every area… learn how it works here:

    speed wise, screen wise and battery wise it would crush a full tablet, it wouldn’t even be a contest since windows is too primitive compared to the iPhone OS. windows is a command and mouse OS, it’s not a touch OS.

    we’re not talking about simple eBooks, we are talking full 3D books, it’s far beyond yur your understanding… perhaps that’s why you don’t see why Apple is going to kill off the bookstores.

    yeah, but nobody but a couple geeks would want to buy a linux tablet. apple builds an entire ecosystem, everything fits smoothly together… that’s why nobody can match their level of quality from a user’s point of view.

    it has an excellent word processor, and the ebooks are unmatched… nobody is even close in that department, what? it browses the web perfectly so it’s increasingly clear you don’t know much about modern computing.

    no, apple never lies, they just make products that are so technically advanced it catches everyone off guard. the ipad is clearly the biggest event in recent memory, it will transform most every industry on the planet, you’ll see!

    apple represents massive societal change, so learn what they do or get steamrolled.
